It didn’t used to be easy to find good Mexican food, in Paris. In fact, I often joke that the entirety of my trips back to the States (RIP) are generally spent devouring mass quantities of tacos. Slowly but surely over the past few years, however, a handful of decent options has popped up in Paris, including Candelaria, El Guacamole, and my new Paris fave… Los Gueros.
Earlier this month, this little taqueria had only reopened for outdoor and takeaway service. A table set up in what used to be a street parking space was the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh, delicious dishes.
Taco offerings change regularly and might include this house-made chorizo with cheese, fresh herbs, and lime.
Or maybe a vegetarian option is more your speed, like this choice with cactus, potato, cabbage, and queso fresco.
Whichever you choose, it’s imperative you not miss the nachos, topped with guacamole, sprouts, cabbage, and crema. The house-made corn chips – and house-made hot sauce, made with fruity habaneros – make this an absolute winner.
And if you happen to be nursing a hangover following your inaugural night out at your favorite wine bar… some quesadillas with frijoles negros can’t hurt either.
Los Gueros has a handful of Mexican and local beers by the bottle, and I’m told they also sometimes serve frozen margs. (I guess I’ll have to return to verify they’re as delicious as everything else on the menu.)
