During lockdown in France, aside from delivery bread and coffee, I didn’t partake much in the takeaway trend (though I did report on it – extensively). But now that lockdown has ended and our rules and regulations have relaxed, somewhat, I’m starting to emerge into the world of deconfinement cuisine to see what some of my favorite Parisian spots are doing.
Clamato is the seafood-focused sister restaurant from the team behind Septime. And while I have not yet had the pleasure of visiting when things are Normal, I did take a wander over there in the sunshine to enjoy their new takeaway menu – specifically, fish and chips.
At Clamato, the fish and chips are as they should be: incredibly simple and incredibly good. A small fillet and a handful of hand-cut chips are served with a house-made tartar sauce. There are also oysters, taramasalata, and maple tart on offer, but nothing really pairs better than a Deck & Donohue spring pale ale.
Cheers!
