Paris doesn’t have a huge street food culture, but I’ll admit that for as untraditional as it is, I’m loving all of the new events and pop-ups that have been happening in the city. One that I didn’t want to miss was the Korean food pop-up from Le Citizen Hotel and Hood, so while I was out of town for almost the entire summer, I made a point of paying it a visit last weekend… and I might be back again before it closes next week.
I’m not sure what it looked like the rest of the summer, but on the Saturday afternoon when I stopped by, it was quite calm: there were no free tables inside, but there wasn’t a wait or a line, so I was very quickly able to get my hands on one of the offerings: a banh mi made with house-made veal pastrami and Cajun mayo.
(I hesitated between that and the pulled pork bao with red onion pickles…)
Once I had my sandwich, I grabbed a spot on the Canal to dig in! Unsurprisingly, given my familiarity with these two teams, the sandwich really hit the spot: all of the flavors were on-point, and, as you’d expect in Paris, the baguette was perfection.
This pop-up only has a few days left, so get yourself there before the 15th to sample these flavors yourself.
