Paris has been undergoing a coffee revolution for about ten years now, and yet there are still new shops opening left, right, and center, every day! Much in the spirit of my list of places I love eating at (right now), this coffee-a-holic decided to share some of her favorite places for the best jus de chaussette (literally: sock juice; actually: filter coffee) in the capital.
1. Ten Belles
There’s nowhere better for people-watching, cold brew, and lemon cake than Ten Belles.
Ten Belles – 10, rue de la Grange aux Belles, 75010
2. Café Lomi
Lomi is one of the foremost roasters in all of Paris, so it’s perhaps no surprise that I love hanging out at their Goutte d’Or coffeeshop so much.
Café Lomi – 3 ter Rue Marcadet, 75018
3. Coffee Spoune
Not only does this shop’s punny name make me laugh, it’s also located in my favorite neighborhood and its main room is lined with a wall of books. It has a tendency to get stuffy in the summertime, but in the winter it’s perfect.
Coffee Spoune – 36 Rue Saint-Sébastien, 75011
4. Pavillon des Canaux
Not strictly a coffee shop, the Pavillon des Canaux is a restaurant, event space, and more. They do, however, make excellent (and cheap!) filter coffee, and I love the way the whole space is designed like a house. (You can even sit and eat/drink/work in the bathtub!
Le Pavillon des Canaux – 39 Quai de la Loire, 75019
5. Boot Café
Boot Café – 19 Rue du Pont aux Choux, 75003
